Why a 1920s house here beats a cookie-cutter house there
The homes I show most are old, full of character, and often need a little work. That's the point.

Most of what I show is in the $100K–$250K range, and a lot of it is vintage: brick, hardwood floors, built-in cabinets, porches, the kind of details nobody builds anymore. Coming from California, where everything new looks like everything else, it's a shock in the good direction.
Many of these homes want a personal makeover. That's not a problem to avoid; it's how you get a house with character for a price that still feels made-up. I'll tell you which projects are weekend jobs and which ones mean calling someone.
Financing for a first home, including for homes that need work, is more flexible than most renters have been led to believe. I'm not going to put numbers on a web page; I'm going to introduce you to a lender who'll put the real ones on paper for your situation.
